PRODUCT REVIEW | SMOOTH & LUMINOUS PRIMER | BEAUTY STORY - ID

As promised, I'm going to share my thoughts on some of the products that I bought from Beauty Story. Again, it's an Indonesian cosmetic line and you can find them at Watson or through their website. What I will be sharing with you is that everything based on my experience and based on my skin condition. Some of the products might react differently on every skin, just so you know!

I don't want this post to be too long, so I will be writing each review separately! Let's start with the Smooth & Luminous Primer Primer Smooth & Luminous (Smoothing Base Sun Protection) - Rp 77.500,-

This primer is pearl base; gold, pink, and green pearls, that brightens the skin. It has oil block powder to absorb sebum (oil) and great for makeup base. Basically giving you a smooth, dewy, and glow look. 

Basically, I have oiliness around the T-Zone. With this kind of formula, I and you should be really be careful. Since it contains pearls or shimmer inside the liquid, if you have oily skin or combo skin like I do, it will create the look even more oily. But since it says, this primer also contain oil block powder maybe it won't be that scary. We'll see!

How?

First apply moisturizer, or you skip this if you want but I don't, and then I apply this primer to the whole face. The reason why I do this because I want to see how does the "oil block powder" works on me. Continue with creme blush and lipstick, and done..done.

Result?

This primer surely creates that dewy and glowing look. The liquid doesn't give any weird scents or what so ever, it smells like a baby powder I think. It's very watery and a little goes along the way actually. I squeeze too much actually, haha. So remember don't put too much on your face. It sets very quickly and it feels dewy when you touch your face. It does brighten the skin. After 1 - 2 hours, I don't see any oil building up around the T-Zone. But, when I see my self on the mirror right under the sun, I see some shiny part which is on the T-Zone and which I'm not really comfortable with that. After 3 hours, yes.. the oil has built up around T-Zone. 

Overall?

I do like this kind of primer. But I have to make sure with the amount of product that I apply on my face. Perhaps I'm not gonna apply any of this primer on the T-Zone because as you can see on the picture the shimmer is pretty obvious. The trick is skip the T-Zone area and the apply loose powder to your face so it'll reduce the "too glowing" look. This primer is similar too Laura's Mercier foundation primer which also has shimmer in it and cost aroung S$60. Compare to that, this luminous primer shows the shimmer more than the Laura Mercier. But for starter, not bad and it's affordable, I actually like it!
