PRODUCT REVIEW | FIRST IMPRESSION | MARC JACOB GENIUS GEL FOUNDATION

I'm kind of obsessed with Marc Jacobs cosmetic line. When they first launched, it was love at first sight! There's something about the brand that just made me connected. Are we talking about makeup or boys? LOL.

Ok.. maybe I'm a bit overreacted now! But what I'm trying to point out is that, I love the packaging, it's sophisticated and very elegant. Last time, I've talked about Marc Jacobs eyeshadow trio, to add more, today I'm going to share my thoughts on Marc Jacob's foundation, Genius Gel Super-Charge Foundation.

I've read some good and bad reviews about it but I believe that every skin reacts differently. So why not I try it out right? I bought this for Rp750.000-Rp800.000 here in Jakarta, in shade 44 Golden Medium. Marc Jacob's foundation offers pretty wide range shade, about 16 shades, from fare to dark share with cool to warm undertones.

If you go their offical website, it will tell you all the details about the foundation. Basically, it says that this foundation it's buildable, natural-to-full coverage, extreme wear, contains anti-aging formula and antioxidant vitamin protection, and awaken you skin's ideal radiance and clarity. From here I get the big picture for this foundation. So let's see if it true to my skin!
This is a correct timing because I've been suffering from acnes, yes..breakouts! Which is suck because if I don't wear foundation, you can see all the discoloration which like so eww. And I'm lack of sleeping so I have baggy and dark circles. And you see my pictures a bit blur, my apology because I took it with my phone and my new camera hasn't arrived yet.

I'm not gonna explain everything that you can see for the pictures given. Packaging absolutely love it very elegant. The glass container makes it even more fancy but which is quite heavy to carry while traveling. It contains of 30 ml, Marc Jacobs foundation comes with a pump which makes it really easy and bigger control in the amount of foundation you want to use.

On the first pump, the texture supposed to gel-like formula as it says before but for me it's a bit liquidy, I think you have to shake well before using it, which I do and I gives a better texture but not thick. I apply one layer first and in the moment I put this on my face I can smell a really significant scents, it's almost smells like fragrance. I don't really bother because I would rather have with fragrance or not all.

Bare Face
One Layer
With one layer, I can still see my skin underneath the foundation. It does reduce the redness at some places and I think you can see the difference that the foundation lift my skin. But since it says buildable and full coverage. Here's with two layers...
Two Layers
Now.. what do you think? FYI.. I didn't use any filters for these pictures. So.. I think it needs two layers if you want more coverage. But honestly speaking, I can still see my zids just a little bit. It brightens my skin and it fades some of the wrinkles around the eye. It literally lift my skin. After it sets, on my bare fingers, it feels like a satin or a bit powdery finish. It doesn't feel sticky or what so ever. But I think this foundation only goes to Medium Coverage. So it still looks natural for me and I don't feel like I'm wearing foundation.. for me.

I've tested the foundation for over 2-3hours. I have oily to combo skin, so when weather rises up, oh babe.. my skin is really oily especially around the T-Zone. For the first 2-3 hours, the foundation works well. I don't any oil transfer through the foundation. But after 4-5 hours, then.. I can see some oily aroung the T-Zone. Overall the foundation still there, I mean it doesn't fade.

Overall

Buildble - YES
Full Coverage - Medium Coverage
Brighten up the skin - YES
Long wearing - Hm..yea.. pretty much.

For me I think I like this foundation and this is the only foundation that suits my skin color. This doesn't oxidize. Usually, I found foundation rather it is to light or to dull so sometimes I have to mix or balance it with bronzer. It doesn't break out so it suits for normal or combo to oily skin. I don't think this will suits for dry skin because this foundation quite absorb the oil in your skin. So if you have dry skin I think this will result some dry patches. I think I do recommend this.
