Work History: Part 2

Like the world of fashion, there are fabulous designers behind those silky - beautiful dresses. Culinary world also has the 'IT' people who are really passionate on creating delicious food with their own genre. I had the opportunity to sit and have a little chit-chat with those people while I worked for my previous company. It was really fun and interesting. So thru this, I want to freshen up a bit by loading your mind with something different. Here are the 'IT' people aka professional Chef.

Don't judge them because their title or profession is Chef / 'Tukang Masak' / 'Koki' ok! You'll never know how famous they are, I mean of course in their World 'Culinary'.

Start with Adhika Maxi. As one of the owner of Union-Plaza Senayan, Adhika Maxi went to America to pursue his dream and ambition which is to be a pro chef. Along the journey in America, he had a chance to work for Gordon Ramsay for two years what makes his journey really interesting. After graduated from French Culinary Institute and after Gordon Ramsay, he never stop experimenting his own skill on creating food. And here he is, not only owning one of the most popular restaurant in Jakarta, he's becoming a famous private chef in Jakarta.

Secondly, well... this is really interesting. I actually did not meet him in person and we talked thru e-mails. Why? Emmanuel Stroobant doesn't live in Jakarta, he's a chef based in Singapore and he has his own restaurant called Saint Pierre. Because I didn't meet him, I can't really describe what kind of person he is. But I really admire his story. In early life, he dreamed to be a lawyer, so he never see him self being a chef one day. The passion of cooking suddenly pop out unexpectedly. Thru a long journey with big obstacles, he finally achieve the top position. His quote that I will never forget, 'The secret of cooking is Love"

Chandra Yudasswara is the man behind Negev -but not any more, coz I just met him couple days ago. He's originally from Bandung, but his experience of cooking is pretty good. Although he's not cooking for Negev anymore, he has his own restaurant now called Midtown Owl. I went there and try his dishes, it was wonderful.

Chef Renaz Maroef originally from Jakarta but he travel thousand miles to Switzerland to go deep into cooking and culinary world by joining Culinary Arts Academy Switzerland . He's actually went to the same high school as my brother, Don Bosco. What a small world.

This is what I've been waiting for! He owns two restaurants in Bali; Mama'san & Sarong, he recently published his own cook book 'Sarong Inspiration' now He just opened another Asian restaurant named E&O. Will Meyrick.. Gosh.. he story is really inspiring and his dishes are amazing. Curious about his story? Check out his cook book, and you will find out his amazing story. Curious about his dishes? Well.. go to his restaurant of course. I bet, you will not regret it!

These people has their own story which will inspired us very much. But those chefs I mentioned above, are not the only one. There are still many chefs that has the passion and really want to move us thru their dishes. If you dream to be a pro-chef someday, don't be afraid! Look at these guys and how they became?
